This application note is intended to provide application support for Philips´ Digital Video Decoders and Encoders.
It contains a description of various evaluation boards as well as I²C-bus programming of the ICs.
The Digital Video Decoder converts an analog video input signal into a digital output signal. This signal can be
processed by a wide range of applications and fed to the Digital Video Encoder, which delivers analog video sig-
nals to TV receivers or video cassette recorders.
This note gives a detailed description of the schematics and some hints how to design the PCB (Printed Circuit
Board) with mixed analogue and digital signal processing.

This application note is intended to provide application support for Philips´ Digital Video Decoders and Encoders
in addition to the application note AN96055. It contains a description of evaluation boards as well as I²C-bus pro-
gramming of the ICs.
The Digital Video Decoder converts an analog video input signal into a digital output signal. This signal can be
processed by a wide range of applications and fed to the Digital Video Encoder, which delivers analog video sig-
nals to TV receivers or video cassette recorders.
