Choosing the right surface treatment
Sometimes it c
an be hard to choose the right surface treatment, depending on the function and
location of the part. A few points should therefore be classified with your quality and production
departments, in liaison with your sales person:
- Type of assembly: manual or automatic
- Corrosion resistance: how many hours?
- Environment in which the assembly is located: saline or polluted atmosphere?
- Colours: Will the part be visible? What colours are available?
This type of selec
tion is much simpler since all you do
is choose a colour. Most of our parts come in 4 colours:
white, natural, black and grey. But other colours may
be produced as well: brown, green, blue, etc.

There ar
e two solutions for
protecting parts from corrosion:
lamellar galvanizing and electrolytic
galvanizing.
The table below indicates the
corrosion resistance of the different
finishes available. Salt spray resistance
is given in hours of exposure to white
rust or red rust.
