Lab 1 Specific Information
Objective:
This tutorial guides you through the process of creating a simple console application
using Visual C++ 6.0. After this lab, students should feel comfortable to create console
applications for the all the labs and assignments in this class.
Requirement:
1. Follow the tutorial to create the sample console application.
2. Create two more console applications. You may search for the source code on the
textbook or Internet, or you may write your own code.
3. Demonstrate your work in lab, answer questions, and submit your lab report on
the following week.
Marks: 3 of your final 100 marks
General Lab Information
Lab report format:
Your lab report should consist of at least the following sections:
• Course name, lab number
• Student name, ID, lab section
• Project name, purpose, description
• Well commented and indented source code
• Result of execution of your program
• Observations, discussions, lessons, etc.
Lab report must be printed. Hand written report is not acceptable.
Due date:
You have one week to finish this lab. It is due in the following week’s lab.
Absence due to sickness:
Doctor’s note must be provided, and your lab mark will be distributed to other labs. You
will receive zero mark otherwise. There will NOT be make-up labs.
Lab marks:
Lab marks will be posted on the course webpage beside student ID.
