We demonstrate a multiple wavelength Brillouin/erbium fiber laser in a linear cavity configuration. The laser cavity is made up of a fiber loop mirror on one end of the resonator and a virtual mirror generated from the distributed stimulated Brillouin scattering effect on the other end. Due to the weak reflectivity provided by the virtual mirror, self-lasing cavity modes are completely suppressed from the laser cavity. High-power and widely tunable Tm-doped fiber laser at 2 \mu m
2021-02-09Efficient, high-power, and widely tunable Tm-doped fiber lasers cladding-pumped by diode lasers at 791 nm are demonstrated by use of an external cavity containing a diffraction grating. A maximum output power of 62 W is obtained at 2 004 nm for 140 W of launched pump power, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 48% with respect to launched pump power. The operating wavelength is tunable over 200 nm (1 895 to 2 109 nm), with >52 W of output power over a tuning range of 140 nm (1 926 to 2 070 nm)

2021-02-11A novel tunable multi-wavelength fiber ring laser based on semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is proposed by using a high-birefringence (Hi-Bi) fiber loop mirror (FLM) as wavelength filter. Tunable Yb-doped fiber laser with a Mach-Zenhder Interferometer
2021-02-10A ring-shaped all fiber tunable Yb-doped fiber laser with tuning range over 20 nm is demonstrated by using a fiber Mach-Zenhder interferometer as an intra-cavity filter which is constructed with two 3-dB optical couplers. The method for fabricating the fiber Mach-Zenhder interferometer is detailed. The fiber laser has a moderate milli-Watt level output power over the whole tuning range from 1050 to 1071 nm,a side-band suppression ratio greater than 45 dB,and a bandwidth less than 0.1 nm.

The wavelength selective devices are a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and a high birefringence (HiBi) fiber loop mirror. 40-GHz wavelength tunable mode-locked SOA-based fiber laser with 40-nm tuning range
2021-02-26A 40-GHz wavelength tunable mode-locked fiber ring laser based on cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is presented. Pulse trains with a pulse width of 10.5 ps at 40-GHz repetition frequency are obtained. The laser operates with almost 40-nm tuning range. The relationship between the key laser parameters and the output pulse characteristics is analyzed experimentally.

2021-02-10We present a novel high-energy, single-mode, all-fiber-based master-oscillator-power-amplifier (MOPA) laser system operating in the C-band with 3.3-ns pulses and a very widely tunable repetition rate, ranging from 30 kHz to 50 MHz. The laser with a maximum pulse energy of 25 \muJ and a repetition rate of 30 kHz is obtained at a wavelength of 1548 nm by using a double-clad, single-mode, Er:Yb co-doped fiber power amplifier.

2021-02-05A passively Q-switched tunable Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser is demonstrated with graphene epitaxially grown on SiC. The spectral tuning of the Q-switched fiber laser is implemented by rotating a quartz plate filter inside the cavity. 2021-01-27A tunable passively Q-switched ytterbium-doped fiber laser using few-layer gallium selenide (GaSe) as a saturable absorber (SA) is demonstrated. The few-layer GaSe SA, which is fabricated by the mechanical exfoliation method, is able to generate a Q-switched fiber laser that has a maximum repetition rate of 92.6 kHz and a minimum pulsed width of 2.3 μs.
