Abstract
Since the founding of New China, China's economy has boomed, road bridges have been
built one by one, and the number of cars has also increased. Road traffic congestion has
become a hot topic of common concern in today's society. The traffic lights are particularly
important. The existing traffic lights have some disadvantages. When the time of the traffic
lights at the intersection is fixed, it cannot be changed. When the traffic volume is large, the
traffic time of the traffic lights cannot be adjusted according to the traffic volume. In
emergency situations, such as fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars failing to pass in time
when performing official duties, delaying time.
The traffic light design is based on a single-chip microcomputer AT89C51. Based on the
knowledge of the single-chip microcomputer and the current development of traffic lights, a
traffic light is designed to have basic functions. Allows ambulances, police cars and fire trucks
to pass. Improve traffic congestion and create a pleasant travel experience for the people.
Traffic lights are widely used because they are simple, practical, flexible, and easy to
operate. Alleviated the problem of traffic congestion.
