PM10 is particulate matter, which is very small, remains suspended in the air for periods of time, and is easily inhaled into the deep lung. Increased death and disease have been linked to periods of high outdoor PM10 concentrations. An annual arithmetic average of PM10 should not exceed 50 ug/m3.</abstract><purpose>This dataset is used as an example of environmental data for geostatistical spatial data analysis using Geostatistical Analyst extension in ArcGIS 8.</purpose><supplinf>The data were extracted from the California Air Resources Board's ambient air quality databases CD.
