Loading the SCCP PDLM

NBAR Skinny Client Control Protocol PDLM Readme
Installation Requirements
The following minimum requirements must be met in order to install the SCCP PDLM:
Note The SCCP protocol is available in NBAR starting in Cisco IOS Release 12.3(7)T. If you are running
Cisco IOS Release 12.3(7)T, you do not need to load this PDLM since the SCCP protocol is already
supported by NBAR in your Cisco IOS release.
• The SCCP PDLM will work on all Cisco platforms running the following Cisco IOS Releases that
currently support NBAR:
–
Cisco IOS Release 12.3
–
Cisco IOS Release 12.3 T
–
Cisco IOS Release 12.2 T
–
Cisco IOS Release 12.1 E
Loading the SCCP PDLM
Step 1 Ensure ports 2000, 2001, and 2002 are not configured in NBAR as mapped ports for another protocol.
The show ip nbar port-map command output provides a list of NBAR mapped ports if you are unsure
of the NBAR port mapping configurations on your router. If these ports are not currently mapped in
NBAR, proceed to Step 2.
• If TCP port 2000, 2001, or 2002 is being used by NBAR, enter the no ip nbar port-map
protocol-name tcp [2000 | 2001 | 2002] command followed by the no ip nbar resources command
so that NBAR no longer monitors these TCP ports for non-SCCP traffic.
Note If you have previously loaded a PDLM before loading the skinny PDLM and TCP port 2000, 2001,
or 2002 is mapped in NBAR to monitor non-SCCP traffic, see CSCed80494 in the “Caveats” section
on page 5 of this document before proceeding.
Step 2 Load the skinny.pdlm file from Cisco.com onto a server.
Step 3 Use the ip nbar pdlm <device>:skinny.pdlm command to load the SCCP PDLM onto the Cisco IOS
software.
Step 4 Enter the show ip nbar port-map, show ip nbar pdlm, or the match protocol ? command to confirm
that Skinny is listed as a supported protocol.
Usage Notes
• The skinny PDL module will classify all TCP traffic that uses ports 2000, 2001, and 2002.
