Procesi's masterful approach to Lie groups through invariants and representations gives the reader a comprehensive treatment of the classical groups along with an extensive introduction to a wide range of topics associated with Lie groups: symmetric functions, theory of algebraic forms, Lie algebras, tensor algebra and symmetry, semisimple Lie algebras, algebraic groups, group representations, invariants, Hilbert theory, and binary forms with fields ranging from pure algebra to functional analysis. Key to this unique exposition is the large amount of background material presented so the book is accessible to a reader with relatively modest mathematical background. Historical information, examples, exercises are all woven into the text. Lie Groups: An Approach through Invariants and Representations will engage a broad audience, including advanced undergraduates, graduates, mathematicians in a variety of areas from pure algebra to functional analysis and mathematical physics.pass:

会员免费 - Evolved Cellular Network Planning and Optimizaiton for UMTS and LTEProduct Description Most books on network planning and optimization provide limited coverage of either GSM or WCDMA techniques. Few scrape the surface of HSPA, and even fewer deal with TD-SCDMA. Filling this void, Evolved Cellular Network Planning and Optimization for UMTS and LTE presents an accessible introduction to all stages of planning and optimizing UMTS, HSPA, and LTE cellular networks. Supplying a comprehensive explanation of the fundamental aspects of current and future cellular networks, the text starts with an overview of each type of network, including basic techniques and channel models. Next, it examines the challenges operators and vendors are likely to face—explaining the critical role network planning and optimization play in addressing these challenges. The book details effective system-level simulation methods, it also provides: A complete overview of UMTS, HSPA, and LTE networks Techniques for planning and optimizing cellular networks An examination of inter-operation issues with existing cellular networks Coverage of the challenges in deploying LTE and relay networks In addition to exploring the procedures for planning and optimizing each type of network, the text covers techniques for major mechanisms, trending, troubleshooting, and conducting radio performance analysis. Paying special attention to compatibility issues among these networks, this book provides the understanding required to deploy and optimize networks that meet the growing demands for mobile data solutions. 会员免费 - XPDL.pdf EnglishA variety of different tools may be used to analyse, model, describe and document a business process. The workflow process definition interface defines a common interchange format, which supports the transfer of workflow process definitions between separate products. The interface also defines a formal separation between the development and run-time environments, enabling a process definition, generated by one modelling tool, to be used as input to a number of different workflow run-time products. A workflow process definition, generated by a build-time tool, is capable of interpretation in different workflow run-time products. Process definitions transferred between these products or stored in a separate repository are accessible via that common interchange format. To provide a common method to access and describe workflow definitions, a workflow process definition meta-data model has been established. This meta-data model identifies commonly used entities within a process definition. A variety of attributes describe the characteristics of this limited set of entities. Based on this model, vendor specific tools can transfer models via a common exchange format. One of the key elements of the XPDL is its extensibility to handle information used by a variety of different tools. XPDL may never be capable of supporting all additional information requirements in all tools. Based upon a limited number of entities that describe a workflow process definition (the "Minimum Meta Model"), the XPDL supports a number of differing approaches.

会员免费 - JPEG2000.Standard.for.Image.Compression.Concepts.Algorithms.and.VLSI.ArchitecturesThe growing demand for interactive multimedia technologies, in various application domains in this era of wireless and Internet communication, necessitated a number of desirable properties to be included in image and video compression algorithms. Accordingly, current and future generation image compression algorithms should not only demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, it should also provide desirable functionalities such as progressive transmission in terms of image fidelity as well as resolution, scalability, region-of-interest coding, random access, error resilience, handling large-size images of different types, etc. Many of these desired functionalities are not easily achievable by the current JPEG standard. The algorithms to implement different modes of the current JPEG standard are independent from each other. The lossless compression algorithm in current JPEG standard is completely different from the lossy compression mode and also the progressive and hierarchical modes. JPEG2000 is the new still image compression standard that has been developed under the auspices of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The systems architecture of this new standard has been defined in such a unified manner that it offers a single unified algorithmic framework and a single syntax definition of the code-stream organization so that different modes of operations can be handled by the same algorithm and the same syntax definition offers the aforementioned desirable functionalities. Moreover, the JPEG standard was defined in 1980s before the emergence of the Internet age. Many developments since then have changed the nature of research

会员免费 - Professional RootkitsHacker Defender, HE4Hook, Vanquish, NT Rootkit, FU, AFX Rootkit-these are the names of some of the rootkits that have found their way into millions of computers around the world. These rootkits share many similarities. Each was written by a single programmer or at best a few programmers. Each can provide unauthorized access to information. Each uses some form of stealth to avoid detection, and they all use technology not intended for their purpose. What is the purpose of a rootkit? Many exist for the sole purpose of programmer recognition. Some find use as “botnet” clients that can work together to overload a particular site. Some end up distributing the spam we find in our e-mail every morning. Some provide conduits to otherwise secure networks. Others are used to gather our personal information for fun and profit. These purposes limit the final product to what I will term “casual software”-more precisely, software limited by purpose, where that purpose is illegal, unethical, destructive, or simply unprofitable. Software developed under these guises cannot usually garner the tools, materials, and expertise required to produce commercial-grade software. This book looks beyond the casual rootkit into the emerging field of professional rootkits. Webster defines “professional” as characterized by or conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession. In this case, the profession is software engineering, where the technical and ethical standards maintained by professional software engineers can produce commercial-grade products with capabilities far beyond those of a single programmer working in his or her spare time on an illegal or unprofitable project. In the case of rootkits, a well-funded team of professionals can exploit a broad range of technology to produce full-featured, robust software with extensive capabilities that are each fit-for-purpose. Here we are again, back at purpose. Only now, with Professional Rootkits, the purpose is information leak prevention, content monitoring and filtering, copyright infringement prevention, or any similar need funded by a multimillion-dollar industry. These industries are looking for solutions, and some of those solutions require the stealth and functionality that can only be found in Professional Rootkits.

会员免费 - usb 3.0 specification 规范文档This document presents an overview of Universal Serial Bus 3.0 architecture and key concepts. USB 3.0 is similar to earlier versions of USB in that it is a cable bus supporting data exchange between a host computer and a wide range of simultaneously accessible peripherals. The attached peripherals share bandwidth through a host-scheduled protocol. The bus allows peripherals to be attached, configured, used, and detached while the host and other peripherals are in operation. USB 3.0 utilizes a dual-bus architecture that provides backward compatibility with USB 2.0. It provides for simultaneous operation of SuperSpeed and non-SuperSpeed (USB 2.0 speeds) information exchanges. This chapter is organized into two focus areas. The first focuses on architecture and concepts related to elements which span the dual buses. The second focuses on SuperSpeed specific architecture and concepts. Later chapters describe the various components and specific requirements of SuperSpeed USB in greater detail. The reader is expected to have a fundamental understanding of the architectural concepts of USB 2.0. Refer to the Universal Serial Bus Specification, Revision 2.0 for complete details.

An impinging problem in VOD systems is how to alleviate the bottleneck in accessing disk I/O or network of limited bandwidth, especially for VCR-like operations. Unfortunately, most of existing streaming proxies are designed for sequential access. In the paper, we propose a novel statistical window caching algorithm for fast interactive access, which uses periodic caching to efficiently manage the cached video data based on the user access pattern. The performance is further enhanced by adopting two policies: prefix caching and variable-sized caching. Simulations using traces from a real VOD server confirm that our proposed method considerably outperforms existing techniques based on uniform segmentation, exponential segmentation, LRU exponential segmentation and adaptive and lazy segmentation algorithm. Under VCR operations, our proposed method achieves a 35% reduction in disk load by using 2.4% of the video’ total size.

会员免费 - Solr 1.4 Enterprise Search ServerThis book first gives you a quick overview of Solr, and then gradually takes you from basic to advanced features that enhance your search. It starts off by discussing Solr and helping you understand how it fits into your architecture—where all databases and document/web crawlers fall short, and Solr shines. The main part of the book is a thorough exploration of nearly every feature that Solr offers. To keep this interesting and realistic, we use a large open source set of metadata about artists, releases, and tracks courtesy of the MusicBrainz.org project. Using this data as a testing ground for Solr, you will learn how to import this data in various ways from CSV to XML to database access. You will then learn how to search this data in a myriad of ways, including Solr's rich query syntax, "boosting" match scores based on record data and other means, about searching across multiple fields with different boosts, getting facets on the results, auto-complete user queries, spell-correcting searches, highlighting queried text in search results, and so on.

会员免费 - Prime Numbers:A Computational PerspectivePrime numbers beckon to the beginner, the basic notion of primality being accessible to a child. Yet, some of the simplest questions about primes have stumped humankind for millennia. In this book, the authors concentrate on the computational aspects of prime numbers, such as recognizing primes and discovering the fundamental prime factors of a given number. Over 100 explicit algorithms cast in detailed pseudocode are included in the book. Applications and theoretical digressions serve to illuminate, justify, and underscore the practical power of these algorithms. The 2nd edition adds new material on primality and algorithms and updates all the numerical records, such as the largest prime, etc. It has been revised throughout. From the reviews of the first edition: "…The exercises are a gold mine of interesting examples, pointers to the literature and potential research projects. … Prime Numbers is a welcome addition to the literature of number theory—comprehensive, up-to-date and written with style. It will be useful to anyone interested in algorithms dealing with the arithmetic of the integers and related computational issues." American Scientist "Destined to become a definitive textbook conveying the most modern computational ideas about prime numbers and factoring, this book will stand as an excellent reference for this kind of computation, and thus be of interest to both educators and researchers. It is also a timely book, since primes and factoring have reached a certain vogue, partly because of cryptography. …" L’Enseignement Mathématique "The book is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to understand these algorithms, learn how to implement them, and make them go fast. It's also a lot of fun to read! It's rare to say this of a math book, but open Prime Numbers to a random page and it's hard to put down. Crandall and Pomerance have written a terrific book." 会员免费 - Spatial_Data_Analysis_Theory_and_Practice_by_Robert_HainingSpatial Data Analysis: Theory and Practice provides a broad-ranging treatment of the field of spatial data analysis. It begins with an overview of spatial data analysis and the importance of location (place, context and space) in scientific and policy-related research. Covering fundamental problems concerning how attributes in geographical space are represented to the latest methods of exploratory spatial data analysis and spatial modelling, it is designed to take the reader through the key areas that underpin the analysis of spatial data, providing a platform from which to view and critically appreciate many of the key areas of the field. Parts of the text are accessible to undergraduate and master’s level students, but it also contains sufficient challenging material that it will be of interest to geographers, social scientists and economists, environmental scientists and statisticians, whose research takes them into the area of spatial analysis.

会员免费 - Medical_Image_Registration_eBookImage registration is the process of systematically placing separate images in a common frame of reference so that the information they contain can be optimally integrated or compared. This is becoming the central tool for image analysis, understanding, and visualization in both medical and scientific applications. Medical Image Registration provides the first comprehensive coverage of this emerging field. This monograph details the theory, technology, and practical implementations in a variety of medical settings. International experts thoroughly explain why image registration is important, describe its applications in a nonmathematical way, and include rigorous analysis for those who plan to implement algorithms themselves. It is accessible and informative to those new to the field, yet it provides in-depth treatment for the expert. With its practical examples, extensive illustrations, and comprehensible approach, Medical Image Registration is a must have guide for medical physicists, clinicians, and researchers.

会员免费 - 09年新书,感知无线电 网络中的频谱接入和管理Dynamic Spectrum Access and Management in Cognitive Radio Networks09年新书,很好的知无线电 网络中的频谱接入和管理,下面是IEEE的书评: The book is divided into three parts. Part one is a general introduction to wire- less communication systems, reviewing communication architectures and tech- nologies, as well as resource allocation protocols and dynamic spectrum access, discussing features, research challenges, and standardization. Part two is a further discussion on wireless system design with a focus on analysis of dynamic spectrum access systems. A brief introduction to signal processing and optimization tech- niques is presented, as well as basics of game theory and intelligent algorithms (e.g., machine learning, genetic algo- rithms, and fuzzy logic). Finally, part three discusses in detail dynamic spec- trum access and management. Models and architectures of dynamic spectrum access are introduced and described in detail. The authors first present the cen- tralized dynamic spectrum access model, and later focus on the distributed approach. Distributed dynamic spectrum access is discussed from the algorithmic and protocol perspectives in separate chapters. Finally, a spectrum trading model is presented with its applications to wireless communications. This book is a valuable source of information for people new to the con- cept of dynamic spectrum access. Also, scientists and engineers already involved in dynamic spectrum access research will find this book a good reference source. This is one of the few books on the mar- ket related to dynamic spectrum access and cognitive radio written completely by the authors themselves. Therefore, it is very cohesive, has a very good flow, and does not repeat itself while intro- ducing new concepts, as do many edited books on a similar topic available on the market. Many concepts of dynamic spec- trum access are well systematized in the book, and the literature review is very broad and complete. One small draw- back is a bit too lengthy introduction to wireless communication systems in part two of the book (which can easily be skipped by the reader). For anyone who wishes to explore topics in dynamic spec- trum access, this book will be a compre- hensive source of valuable information.
