Getting Started with Clarity 3D
Workbench
Overview
Clarity 3D Workbench offers 3D solid modeling for the 3D-EM full-wave extraction workflow.
The Clarity 3D Workbench GUI supports the following:
■ Importing, creating, and modifying 3D solid models
■ Completing design definition, such as materials, boundary conditions, and ports
■ Setting up analysis
■ Launching and tracking simulations
Clarity 3D Workbench Spatial Mode Workflow
Clarity 3D Workbench Full-Wave Spatial Mode is a workflow inside Clarity 3D Workbench.
The main application of Spatial Mode is to see the far (radiation) and near EM field distribution
of a 3D structure (such as RF chip, chip RDL, package, or PCB) excited by I-current sources
directly at the ports.
The Clarity 3D Workbench Spatial model is different from Clarity 3D Workbench Full Wave
Extraction model in the application. The port excitation of the Spatial mode is the current
source with infinite resistance, while the Extraction mode has the voltage excitation at the
port. However, both modes use Clarity 3D Workbench Full-wave solution.
