This directory contains a file for setting the default view
(cust_view.cmd), a file for experimenting with the pick tolerance
for "attach near" operations, as well as a sample of using a batch
file (batch_sla.cmd) to create a model and perform modeling tasks in
a scripted way.
The default view has:
up_axis = Y_pos
forward_axis = Z_pos
The cust_view.cmd file changes these defaults to:
up_axis = Z_pos
forward_axis = Y_neg
The default pick tolerance is hardcoded. There is an environment
variable in v11.0 that you can use to change the value. You must
set this variable prior to starting ADAMS/View. Below the
default pick value is shown:
On UNIX: setenv MDI_PICK_TOL 0.015
On NT: set MDI_PICK_TOL=0.015
The number indicates screen (pixel) coordinates, where the
screen is considered 2 x 2 and the default pick region is
of size 0.015. Using a larger value for the pick tolerance
will increase the size of the pick area, the upper limit is 1
but you probably need not exceed 0.5.
The batch_sla.cmd is provided as documented approach for the model
development process. The instructor may want to use portions of
the file to re-build the model up to a certain step if students
are having problems and need to start over.
Please note that "batch_sla.cmd" contains
several references to other files, listed here:

As such, this model must reside in mod_04_sla directory if
you want to import it. Also the referenced files must also
exist in their specified directories. Therefore, you must
assure the files are present or to change the path specifications
in the batch file to suit your directory structure.
Here is the general sequence of tasks that "batch_sla.cmd" performs:
