AbstractThe changes in the main properties and structure of raw tussah silk were studied, following Gamma irradiation with
the absorbed dosage of 15kGy and 30kGy. The results indicate that the mechanical properties, such as the tensile strength,
elongation at break, the elasticity and the heat stability, decrease evidently after -rays irradiation. There are no obvious
changes in the surface configuration and congregated structure. Yellow changes are not found when irradiated by the 15kGy-
rays, and only found by the 30kGy -rays.
