System & Software Requirements
▪ EDEM 2.6, 2.7, 2017 or 2018 is installed and its installation
location is known
▪ Fluent 17.x, 18.x or 19.x (17.2, 18.0 etc.) is installed and its
installation location is known
▪ Red Hat / CentOS 5 or later for EDEM 2.6 or 2.7
▪ Red Hat / CentOS 6 or later for EDEM 2017 or 2018
▪ For those unfamiliar with Linux operating systems, all commands
are CASE SENSITIVE, so enter commands as they are written.

Contents of edem_coupling_build folder (1)
▪ You will find in this directory the following sub directories:
▪ documentation: Contains this compilation guide and the usage
documentation
▪ edem_cfd_adaptor_build: Contains the files needed to build the
EDEM CFD Adaptor
▪ lib_edem_coupling : Contains the Fluent UDF library which needs to
be built and linked with the EDEM CFD Adaptor
▪ tools: Contains a number of Python, Linux shell and Windows
command scripts used for the compilation

Contents of edem_coupling_build folder (2)
▪ You will also find two files in this directory :
▪ Linux_GUI_compilation: This small program is used to compile
the coupling files on Linux operating systems
▪ load_edem_coupling.jou: The Fluent journal file used to load
the coupling into Fluent when first setting up a coupled case
▪ Windows_GUI_compilation.exe: This small program is used to
compile the coupling files on Windows operating systems
