¾ Building U-Boot in MSYS
If we want to building U-Boot in Eclipse,we must know how to build
U-Boot in MSYS/MinGW Toolchain, Eclipse just call MSYS/MinGW command to
build U-boot.
1. MSYS & MinGW
MSYS is a collection of GNU utilities such as bash, make, gawk and
grep to allow building of applications and programs which depend on
traditionally UNIX tools to be present. It is intended to supplement MinGW
and the deficiencies of the cmd shell.
MinGW ("Minimalistic GNU for Windows") is a collection of freely
available and freely distributable Windows specific header files and
import libraries combined with GNU toolsets that allow one to produce
native Windows programs that do not rely on any 3rd-party C runtime DLLs.
a. Download MSYS & MinGW
z Download and run the latest mingw-get-inst version.
z Select the directory to install MinGW, remembering the advice
given above that the path to this directory should not contain
any spaces.
z Select the optional components to be installed, including the C++,
MSYS Basic System and MinGW Developer Toolkit.
Download mingw-get from http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/
,and
install mingw-get.
I got mingw-get-inst-20110530.exe, and setup it.

I install MinGW to path D:\MINGW,at the end of install, start window
xp cmd.exe,cd to d:\MingW\bin and run mingw-get.exe install msys-rxvt
mingw-get.exe install msys-mintty. RXVT and Mintty are terminal
emulators of MSYS.
b. Packet MSYS/MinGW and configuration
Packet MSYS/MinGW to different computer /different directory, I packet
MSYS/MinGW to my another computer’s F Partition which is an NFFS file
system.

Put MSYS/MinGW on an NTFS Partition!!!

In Windows Explorer, Change Directory to F:\MinGW\msys\1.0,make a
shortcut of msys.bat.
Using RXVT as terminal emulators of MSYS, add “–rxvt” to target.
Target: F:\MinGW\msys\1.0\msys.bat –rxvt.
Change Directory to F:\MinGW\msys\1.0\etc\
,Edit fstab, make sure the
MINGW folder has mount to /mingw! In my case F:\MinGW\ should mount to
/mingw.
