To prevent any materials beyond shelf life time, following procedures are implemented.
1. For Raw materials, Incoming Material Inspection is responsible for monitoring the accurate “Total shelf life “of
screen [General Plant Data / Storage 1] in Material Master Data of SAP. (T-Code>MM03)
2. For components, QC is responsible for monitoring the accurate “Total shelf life “.
3. While we make goods receiving in SAP with movement type 101, we must fill in the Production date or Expire date
(only for special materials we use expire date), Incoming Material Inspection defines the special materials &
updates them regularly.
3.1.Goods receipt against Production order.(T-Code>MB31), we take the present date (booking date) as production
date which should be same with Date Code on components.
3.2. Goods receipt for purchase order (T-Code>MB01)or Goods receipt-PO Unknown(T-Code>MB0A)
For normal parts, we use real production date of material by vendor as production date, if real production date
is not available, we adopt vendor invoice date as production date.
For special materials, we key in expire date in SAP instead of production date.
For special materials, Incoming inspector must verify the Production date (from vendor) plus shelf life (from
SAP Data) is equal to Expire date ( from vendor). Otherwise we have to refer to vendor or hanau for further
verification.
4. Store monthly (the next working date of each month sales cut-off date) generate a “List of Expiration Dates”with
“Tot. rem. shelf life=90days” to retest the materials. (T-Code>MB5M)
5. With the “Material retest application Form”, Incoming inspection must expedite the test to prevent from delaying
customer orders.
6. Unrestricted materials in Store must be with a QC PASS or Conditional PASS or Inspection Free labels showing
expire date except those materials listed in “ Free Inspection Materials List W/O labels”
7. For the Shelf Life of Material missing in SAP, Incoming Inspection must inform Mr. Friedrichs to maintain it,
storekeeper will temporarily use the date according to RAW MATERIAL EXPIRATION DATE REGULATION,
later change to a new date after confirmation by Hanau.
8. Storekeeper can’t issue expired materials to WIP, in this case, Incoming inspector must be informed.
9. Storekeeper can’t issue materials to WIP without a QC PASS or Conditional PASS or Inspection Free Labels except
those materials listed in “ Free Inspection Materials List W/O labels”.
10. QC labels must be with expired date and Conditional PASS labels indicate the use condition.
11. For conditional use materials, Incoming Inspection has to work out a Notice on which cases these materials can be
used. Without this notice, conditional use materials can’t be issued to WIP without Prior approval from Incoming
Inspection. The content of this notice should be kept in Common Drive for reference.
12. Incoming inspection change expire date of qualified materials in SAP after re-testing and paste a new label.(T-
Code> MSC2).
