What's New?
Added an option for writing files without BOM.
Added an option for existing the program after conversion is done.
Overview:
UTFCast is a tool for batch converting text files to UTF-8 encoding. It can convert the whole directory into another directory with UTF-8 encoding, and matain the directory structure. It is silent and intelligent. And it is free.

How to use:
Run UTFCast, specify a source directory and a target directory, and then click "Start". Any text file in the source directory will be converted into UTF-8 encoding and saved in the target directory.

Options:
Recursive: Conversion/Detection includes subfolders.
Copy Unconverted: Copy every non-text file in the source directory to the target directory.
Write BOM: Write a UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark) to a converted file.
Detect Only: Detect file encodings, will not convert or copy any file to target directory.
Exit When Done Exit the program when conversion is done.

Supported input encodings:
ASCII, UTF-16 Little Endian with BOM, UTF-16 Big Endian with BOM, UTF-8 with BOM

Command Line:
UTFCast.exe /i:"Source_Folder" /o:"Output_Folder" /r /cf /c /nobom /s /e /?
Syntax:
UTFCast.exe </reqired_option:argument> [/optional_option:argument]
Detect a folder:
UTFCast.exe </i:"Source_Folder"> [/r]
/i:"Source_Folder" Specify which folder to detect
/r Recursive Detection
Convert a folder:
UTFCast.exe </i:"Source_Folder"> </o:"Output_Folder"> [/r] [/cf]
/i:"Source_Folder" Specify which folder to convert
/o:"Output_Folder" Specify the location for output
/r Recursive Conversion
/cf Create the output folder if it does not exist
/c Copy Unconverted
/nobom Do not write BOM
Other Options:
/s Start detection/conversion immediately
/e Exit when done
/? Show command line help
Example:
To convert every text file in the C:\MyFolder, including any files in subfolders. Save the converted files in D:\MyOutput and then exit the program after conversion is done. The command line is:
UTFCast.exe /i:"C:\MyFolder" /o:"D:\MyOutput" /r /e
