This competition promotes
the study and awareness of
various design disciplines in
high schools across Canada.
It is open to all high school students, at the
junior (grades 10 and below) and senior
(grades 11 +12) levels.
Prizes will be awarded in five categories:
ENTRY
GUIDELINES
Students can work individually or
in teams. There is no maximum
number of students permitted
for a group submission. Students
may submit more than one entry
as long as they are in separate
categories.
Entries will not be returned and will become property of Design Ex-
change. Students are encouraged to submit quality copies of their
work and keep the originals. Students may also wish to photograph
their completed boards for their portfolio. DUE TO THE HIGH VOL-
UME OF ENTRIES, DESIGN EXCHANGE IS UNABLE TO CONFIRM
SUBMISSIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. Please track your package if
you are concerned about its safe arrival at Design Exchange.
All entries must be postmarked no
later than Monday, April 17, 2017
All entries should be rmly
mounted on card, bristol
board, or foamcore. All rele-
vant information (written, im-
agery, etc.) should be placed
on front of boards for display
purposes. Boards must be
no larger than 11” x 17” and
can be laid out vertically
or horizontally. Entries may
include a maximum of three
boards. Do not send models;
photographs of models may
be included on the boards.
All student’s names, school,
category, and grade lev-
el should appear on the
back of each board. This
information must match the
completed Student Registra-
tion Form.
Full entries should be bun-
dled together (tied, wrapped,
or placed in an envelope)
separate from other student
entries.

JUDGING +
PRIZES
All entries will be judged in May
2017 by a panel of professional
designers and Sears Canada
product managers.
If the entries do not meet the requirements, the panel reserves the
right not to award a winner for that category. Entries that do not arrive
prior to the jury session will not be considered. All decisions made by
the panel are final.
All winning and honourable mention entries will receive certificates.
First, second, and third place winners in each category, at each level,
will receive cash prizes as follows:
