TheHM8207isaconstantcurrent,constantvoltage
Li-Ionbatterychargercontrollerthatusesacurrentmode
PWMstep-down(buck)switchingarchitecture.Witha
700kHzswitchingfrequency,theHM8207providesa
small,simpleandefficientsolutiontofastchargeone
(4.2V)ortwo(8.4V)
lithium-ion
batteries.
TheHM8207chargesthebatteryinthreephases:
conditioning,constantcurrent,andconstantvoltage.An
externalsenseresistorsetsthechargecurrentwith±10%
accuracy.Aninternalresistordividerandprecision
referencesetthefinalfloatvoltageto4.2Vpercellwith
±
1%accuracy.Aninternalcomparatordetectsthenear
end-of-chargeconditionwhileaninternaltimersetsthe
totalchargetimeandterminatesthechargecycle.The
HM8207automaticallyre-startsthechargeifthebattery
voltagefallsbelowaninternalthreshold,4.05Vpercell.
TheHM8207alsoautomaticallyenterssleepmodewhen
DCsuppliesareremoved.
TheHM8207isavailableinthe8-leadSOPand10-lead
TDFNpackages.
