You might skip this ReadMe and start with "BeginWithThisSampleWhenUsing_<ControllerType>.m"
- If your operation system is Windows AND
- If you have already run "PI_<ControllerType>.CD_Setup.exe" AND
- If your product CD was released in 2015 or later.
The MATLAB sample files will not run until you have installed the PI MATLAB Driver GCS2.
On Windows an installer is available. For Linux a beta version is available, contact [email protected] if
you need it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please follow the 4 Steps to use you PI controller via the PI MATLAB Driver GCS2 on Windows systems:
1. Install: PI_<ControllerType>.CD_Setup.exe from your product CD.
> This installs all important PI software to your PC. This is recommended.
> If you want to avoid this, install PI_MATLAB_Driver_GCS2_Setup.exe only and
> read the manual to set configurations properly.
2. Update: Update the PI MATLAB Driver GCS2 via PIUpdateFinder
> This is recommended but not required.
3. Run: BeginWithThisSampleForTestingMatlabDriver.m
> just for testing everything is installed properly. This is recommended but not required.
4. Try: The sample for your controller.
> New start samples are named:
> BeginWithThisSampleWhenUsing_<ControllerType>.m
> Older start samples are named different (e. g. "ShortSample.m")
> If you only have an old sample look at the documentation, especially
> at chapter 9: "Migrate to Version 1.2.0 (Umstieg auf Version 1.2.0)
5. Read: PI_MATLAB_Driver_GCS2_Manual_SM155D.pdf (German) OR
PI_MATLAB_Driver_GCS2_Manual_SM155E.pdf (English)
> After Installation you will find this document at:
> "C:\Users\Public\PI\Manuals"
> Or use the "start menu" --> "all programs" --> "PI" --> "PI manuals"
