Preface
Welcome to the Working With DHCP in Oracle Solaris 11.1. This book is part of a multivolume
set that covers a signicant part of the Oracle Solaris system administration information. This
book assumes that you have already installed Oracle Solaris. You should be ready to congure
your network or ready to congure any networking software that is required on your network.
Note – This Oracle Solaris release supports systems that use the SPARC and x86 families of
processor architectures. The supported systems appear in the
Oracle Solaris OS: Hardware
Compatibility Lists
. This document cites any implementation dierences between the platform
types.
Who Should UseThis Book
This book is intended for anyone responsible for administering systems that run Oracle Solaris,
which are congured in a network. To use this book, you should have at least two years of UNIX
system administration experience. Attending UNIX system administration training courses
might be helpful.
