 Review the Test and Acceptance Criteria Checklist retac010_R002

2. Print a copy of the Test and Acceptance Criteria Checklist (TAC) and review it with the customer

once onsite.

The TAC covers: Installation and/or implementation of CX4 series, CX3 series, and CX series

CLARiiON storage systems in conjunction with a TS Professional Services Engagement.

This checklist should be reviewed with the customer at the conclusion of the Planning and Design

Phase and prior to starting the Installation and/or Implementation Phase.

Performing the tests in this Test and Acceptance Checklist is also considered a product

Functional Overview demonstration for this engagement and is part of the implementation’s

acceptance and sign-off. A completed copy of this document becomes part of the customer’s

installation record.

The TAC was installed on your system via the installation of the CLARiiON Procedure Generator

and can be accessed from the default directory: C:\Program Files\CLARiiON Procedure

Generator\Reference Materials\CLARiiON TAC.doc.

3. As of 02/13/09, the latest patch versions are:

 CX4 series

Note that there is a common bundle for all CX4 models

MODEL Release 28

CX4 all models 04.28.000.5.504*

* CX4 storage systems will start to ship with patch .504 in February 2009. It is strongly

recommended that those storage systems that ship with .501 be upgraded to .504. See

Knowledgebase solution emc202449: CX4 storage systems!shipped with FLARE OE Release

28 patch .501 (04.28.000.5.501) that will use Virtual Provisioning should be upgraded to patch

.504 (04.28.000.5.504) during installation for more information.

 CX3 series

As of 08/22/08, these are being shipped with Release 26, patch .016 installed. It is strongly

recommended that the latest patch for the target FLARE release be installed when you are

doing an upgrade or an install, unless there is a technical reason not to do so.

See the CLARiiON Activity Guide (CAG) for target FLARE releases for installations and

upgrades, and any patch restrictions.

 When you get on site: CX4 series onste020_R007

1. If your activity involves using the Service LAN port:

NEVER connect a switch or hub in between the two Service LAN Interfaces on any CX4-Series

storage system. Either Service LAN Interface may be used to target either SP.

If the situation does occur, promptly remove the Ethernet cable, and re-seat the Management

Module. The Management Modules are hot-swappable. They may be removed, without affecting

the array’s operation. This issue is detailed in emc199379.

2. If your activity involves using the Navisphere Service Taskbar:

If not already done, install the latest version of the Navisphere Service Taskbar on

the workstation/laptop from which you will perform the activity.

Starting with Release 28 of the NST (06.28), a Technical Advisories Notification screen

will be displayed at start-up that shows Knowledgebase solutions that the user should be

aware of.

The NST can be configured when and how to display Advisories by selecting Tools,

Technical Advisories, Configure Options . Check with the customer as to what setting

they would like.
