1 SAP ME OEE Setup
Business Purpose
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a widely utilized metric for measuring manufacturing
performance. The OEE functionality in SAP ME is based on SAP ME execution data and supports the
various customer categories of SAP ME. It is built on the industry standard definition of Overall
Equipment Effectiveness.
OEE utilizes common sources of manufacturing data to obtain metrics that enable you to measure
availability and performance of equipment and the quality of goods produced by that equipment. OEE
allows you to measure and analyze plant performance both in real-time and historically.
This section of the How-To Guide describes how to set up and configure OEE after all the master data has
been downloaded from SAP ERP via SAP MII.

2 Prerequisites
SAP ERP
You have verified that all the master data is created and transferred to SAP ME.
SAP ME
• You have received Material, Resource, Work Сenter, Routing data from SAP ERP.
• You have imported the production order with BOM data from SAP ERP.
• You have verified that OEE System Rules are configured (see the Application Help for SAP
Manufacturing Execution for Overall Equipment Effectiveness on http://help.sap.com).
• You have configured OEE System Rules in System Rule Maintenance activity.
• By default, Enable OEE is set to True. To use the OEE feature in SAP ME, this needs to be
always set to true.
