GLOBAL DRIVE CONTROL - Version 4.9
Lenze 8200 and 9300 inverters can be
parameterized and controlled with this
software.
Please observe the following information on
the communication interface Optical Fibre:
Optical fibre:
For communication with the drive use the
optical fibre and observe the following when
there is more than one drive connected:
"Search all baud rates" may not be activated
for the dialog "Lecom-A/B - Find drives"!

Caution:
The user is provided with the software at issued.
All risks regarding quality and the results
obtained by application of the software, remain
with the user. The user must take correspondng

DIRECTORY STRUCTURE:
The individual components of GLOBAL DRIVE CONTROL
are stored in different directories. The
directory structure must not be changed.
\GDC
|
+-- \BIN
|
+-- \PDB
|
+-- \DAT
|
+-- \DLL
|
+-- \HLP
|
+-- \OSZ
|
+-- \FBE
Contents of the directories:
\bin
Executable program file gdc.exe, program library
and configuration files
\pdb
Directory for the storage of the unit descriptions
required by GLOBAL DRIVE CONTROL. The file
extension of these files is always *.pdb.
The unit descriptions are available in several
languages. Therefore, the files are sorted
according to the languages and saved in
sub-directories. The identification code for the
languages is identical to the language
identification used in MS-DOS.
\dat
This directory saves the files with the parameter
sets which are saved by the user. These files
always have the extension *.gdc.
\dll
This directory contains drive-specific program
libraries.
\hlp
Here you will find help files for the program
GLOBAL DRIVE CONTROL as well as information
about the inverters.
\osz
This directory contains the oscilloscope
function
\fbe
This directory contains the function block
editor

All connections which are not listed, are not
assigned. For further information see Operating
Instructions Field-bus module type 2102 for

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
FAULT
Parameter-set file cannot be read
CAUSE-1
You tried to read in parameter-set files, which
were generated by means of the DOS program
'Lemoc2'
REMEDY-1
Global Drive Control uses a different format
for filing the drive parameters.
Transfer the parameter set from the controller
to the PC and save it by means of Global Drive
Control.
CAUSE-2
You tried to read in parameter-set files, which
were generated by means of the test version
(V0.6 ) of Global Drive Control program.
REMEDY-2
The type of the parameter-set file has changed
from '*.VAR' to '*.GDC'. Please change the file
type to '*.GDC' via the file manager.
FAULT
No controller communication.
CAUSE-1
You use a wrong PC-system cable.
REMEDY-1
Check system-cable wiring (see above)
CAUSE-2
Controller is switched off or no voltage
applied to LECOM-A/B-module 2102.
REMEDY-2
Check voltage supply and controller
connection. With external supply, check voltage
applied to terminals 39 and 59
(see corresponding Operating Instructions)
CAUSE-3
Wrong COM port selected
REMEDY-3
Set the used COM port under the menu
'Options/communication' of the Global
Drive Control program.
CAUSE-4
Wrong setting of the interface parameter
REMEDY-4
The interface parameters can be changed thanks
to Windows system control:
-COM1: address 03F8, IRQ 4
-COM2: address 02F8, IRQ 3
CAUSE-5
Faulty Windows configuration.
The COM ports cannot be accessed via the Windows
program 'Terminal'
REMEDY-5
Reinstall Windows or eliminate the fault in the
configuration under the file 'System.ini'
------------------------------------------------
GDC with system bus driver:
NOTE
Files and entries in the SYSTEM.INI will
not be deleted when GDC is uninstalled.
Please ensure not using the
Drive Developer Studio (DDS) when deleting
the files and entries, otherwise DDS
cannot communicate with the drive!
REMEDY-1 (Windows 9x)
Delete the following files:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PEAKCANL.VXD
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VCANW32.DLL
oder
\WIN95\SYSTEM\PEAKCANL.VXD
\WIN95\SYSTEM\VCANW32.DLL
Delete the following entries (SYSTEM.INI):
device=peakcanl.vxd
[PEAKCAN]
Hardware1=2,0x378,7
Net1=GDC-PeakNet_1000, 1, 0x0014
Net2=GDC-PeakNet_125, 1, 0x031C
Net3=GDC-PeakNet_250, 1, 0x011C
Net4=GDC-PeakNet_50, 1, 0x472F
Net5=GDC-PeakNet_500, 1, 0x001C
REMEDY-2 (Windows NT 4.0)
Delete the following files:
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\PEAKCAN.SYS
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\VCANW32.DLL
