The R programming language provides several functions to create visualizations, such as plots. Some com-
monly used plot functions in R include:
plot(): a general function for creating plots. It can be used to
create line plots, scatter plots, and other types of plots.
barplot(): creates a bar plot, which is a type of plot that displays
data as rectangular bars.
hist(): creates a histogram, which is a type of plot that displays
the distribution of a set of continuous data.
boxplot(): creates a box plot, which is a type of plot that displays
the distribution of a set of continuous data.
densityplot(): creates a density plot, which is a type of plot that
displays the density of a set of continuous data.
scatterplot(): creates a scatter plot, which is a type of plot that
displays the relationship between two continuous variables.
pie(): creates a pie chart, which is a type of plot that displays data
as a set of pie slices.
heatmap(): creates a heatmap, which is a type of plot that displays
data as a matrix of colored cells.
These functions and many others are part of the base R package and can be easily used to create various
types of plots. In addition, there are many other packages available in R that provide additional plotting
capabilities, such as the ggplot2 and lattice packages.
