Proposed VESA and Industry Standards and Guidelines
for Computer Display Monitor Timing (DMT)
Version 1.0, Revision 12p, Draft 3
10/17/08
This document includes all current VESA Monitor Timing Standards & Guidelines.
'Guidelines' are subjected to the same VESA review and approval process as 'Standards', but
are designated as 'Guidelines' to ease concerns on the part of some VESA members that VESA
is 'endorsing' these timing standards. 'Guidelines' designations are typically used for lower
resolutions or lower refresh rates that are in common industry use in lower-performance
systems. For reference, this document also includes a number of industry standard timings (de-
facto standards) for the computer industry.
This document is the primary means of distribution for all VESA Monitor Timing Standards
and Guidelines. The standards and guidelines covered by this document are outlined on the
following page.
