5. TECHNICAL MODULES
Each module is assigned one or two letters, which serve as a reference for symbols and program
variables. These letters will be stated in the respective Module Headings. A list of all module letters is
given in Appendix A.
The data of a module is divided into the following areas:
• Properties Selection Buttons: The selection buttons can be set in the property window of each
component. Different options of the calculation run can be activated or deactivated, e.g. selecting a
cold start model or which maps should be used.
• User Defined Variables (Input Data): This data can be input or modified
by the user to characterize the module. For all the modules, the following standard information can be
entered :
• Author
• Comment
• Date of generation
• Three notices
In addition, module specific information can be input which is available from the respective module.
• Input and Output Variables: These are variables the modules need from each other, or which they
make available for other modules.
• Computation of the Module Variables: The computed variables used in the system of equations,
which represent the vehicle model, will be stated explicitly.If not stated explicitly, the units will be
given in SI units. The symbols for frequently used variables, e.g. F for Force, are uniform and available
in Appendix B.
The components are divided into groups located on the left side of the window.Components in groups
listed below can be viewed by placing the cursor on the group. The groups are as follows:
