Description: Private Disk is the most popular Dekart's solution. Private Disk allows you to create a secure space for all your work, exchange this data with others, and feel assured that your information is safe from external and internal manipulation. Private Disk does not require the use of USB-token or smart card to gain access to your protected data. Private Disk is a solution, which creates one or more secure virtual disks on your hard drive. Information stored in this secure area is automatically encrypted and may only be accessed by entering the correct password. Without the password, the secure disk space is inaccessible. Private Disk employs an AES standard encryption method. This technology ensures a high level of encryption, which does not hinder the computer's performance in any way. Private Disk will not inhibit you from collaborative business efforts. Data can be stored on removable magnetic media such as ZIP-disks, CDR or optical disks. You can enhance flexibility by allowing multiple users to share a single PC. Each user will be able to create their own secure area, with an individual password. Private Disk is very easy to use and is installed within minutes. Data encryption is an effortless process, requiring only the copying of files into the designated secure drive. Program Interface Short Description: "Disk" - allows to create, mount, erase and change some properties of encrypted disk "Options" - allows to configure Dekart Private Disk's software behaviour "Recovery" - allows to create and restore copies of the disk's encryption key "Z:\" etc - allows to unmount encrypted disk, create and restore its content 2.2. Command line options: /minimize - run the application in system tray /path:YourFileImage - activate virtual encrypted disk from this image /password:YourPassword - activate virtual encrypted disk using this password /symbol:DiskSymbol - activate virtual encrypted disk with given symbol /dismount - deactivate all virtual encrypted disks /dismount:DiskSymbol - deactivate given virtual encrypted disk /unload - deactivate all virtual encrypted disks and exit the application without confirmation /nosystray - hide the system tray's icon /nohotkeys - disable all hotkeys /noexitdialog - disable exit confirmation dialog /logfile - create error log-files in the system disk root (e.g. in the "C:\"): dk_pdl.log and dk_pdapi.log 2.3. Default Hot keys: Ctrl+F12 - deactivates virtual encrypted disk Ctrl+Alt+F12 - deactivates virtual encrypted disk and exit the application 3. System requirements Windows 95, 98, NT4.0, 2000, ME, XP Private Disk can support up to 2GB of encrypted space for Windows 95/98/ME users and up to 1000GB for Windows NT/2000/XP users. Important information for NT users: - Disk size can be 1Tb maximum. - Disk File-Image should not be more then 4Gb on Fat32. - Fat32 file system does not support large files(up to 2Gb). You are required to use NTFS. - Virtual encrypted disks can be created only by NT Administrator - In order to work with the application as a User, the initial use of Dekart Private Disk must be done by the Administrator. 4.
