Midterm Evaluation (Diagnostic) Form(s)
Rather than wait for the end-of-course CTE, here is a suggested diagnostic approach
to course evaluation that is pragmatic and proactive, ensuring the service agreement
(what we promise and students might expect to receive) is met, while managing risk.
Course evaluation may be considered in three parts:
Part 1 - early in the course (week 3-4): to clarify students’ experience in terms of
clarity on course objectives, and requirements in terms of readings, assignments,
assessment and group work. You may also want to clarify if course materials are
accessible and useful.
- see appendix 1
- Give feedback to the students (on their feedback) in the following week.
Part 2 - mid-term (say week 7-8): to explore students’ experience and confirm
course arrangements
- see appendix 2
- Give feedback to the students (on their feedback) in the following week.
Part 3 – end-of-term (done by Department)
