3 INTRODUCTION
3.1 What is the scope of this document?
This document Feature Description & Requirements, FDR, is created by the feature teams at Zenuity to describe the
feature and maintain all high level customer needs and requirements.
All features at Zenuity is developed in an agile way. Feature development can be made internally or initiated by
customers. This mean that this FDR will be updated to explain the evolution of a feature.
3.2 Who should read this document?
Primary readers can be customers, other stakeholders, system designers or software designers, feature verification
and other involved persons who need to know about the feature.
3.3 What is the purpose of this document?
The Feature Description and Requirement, FDR, is a document describes the customer feature. FDR describes a
feature with one pagers, descriptions, use cases, scenarios and requirements.
A feature (customer feature) describes something that the product does and it has a clear customer benefit. The
feature has to be realized in a technical solution including sensors, actuators, other hardware and software. If there is a
sufficient technical solution, the customer can have the full feature as descibed in FDR as standard or option.
The Feature Description and Requirement, FDR, document is used to describe and specify the functional behaviour
of a customer feature.
The feature description shall be understandable for customer representatives, design teams or other that need to
know more about the feature, such as service or manufacturing.
Further, the FDR does not contain non-functional requirements such as cost, ergonomics, weight, styling, dirt
contamination etc. Such requirements are also gathered from a system perspective and transferred to the component
requirements.
Thus the feature can be developed undisturbed from architectural changes and developed in one project can be used
in another project with no major changes of the feature definition.
The Feature Description and Requirement forms the basis for the detailed design which is described in the Feature
Realization, FR.
