This document contains release notes for the STEP 7-Micro/DOS
programming software, version 1.3. This file contains information
that is more current than that in the manuals or on-line Help.
============================
Computer Memory Requirements
============================
PPI communication:
At least 510 Kbytes of Conventional (0-640 Kbytes) memory is required to
operate STEP 7-Micro/DOS with PPI communication. At a DOS prompt, type MEM
to find the largest executable program size (free conventional memory) in
your computer. MS Windows, Device drivers, and other TSR (Terminate and Stay
Resident) programs all reduce the available conventional memory.
=======================================
Computer Memory Requirements, continued
=======================================
MPI communication:
Since MPI network drivers use 70 Kbytes, Micro/DOS with MPI communication
requires 580 Kbytes free.
The size of the Micro/DOS 1.3 executable, which must reside below the
640K RAM boundary, has increased due to the addition of the new CPUs.
Some users may no longer be able to operate Micro/DOS as a shell under
Windows 3.x when using the MPI communications card. If you experience
MPI communications problems, exit the Microsoft Windows 3.x environment
and determine that there is 580 Kbytes of conventional memory available.
If you do not have enough memory available, you must modify your system
configuration to remove applications which load drivers below the 640K
RAM boundary.
===========================
New features in Version 1.3
===========================
STEP 7-Micro/DOS Version 1.3 supports the new S7 CPUs: CPU 210, CPU 215,
and CPU 216. Note that in order to program the CPU 210 you must use the
Program Development System (PDS) 210. The manual for the CPU 210 contains
information on programming and other differences in functionality.
============================================================
Converting programs for use with different S7-200 CPU models
============================================================
You may want to take a program developed for one CPU model and convert
it so that it can be used with a different CPU model. Please note the
following general recommendations for this conversion process:
1. Make a backup of the existing program before converting.
2. Using the appropriate documentation, determine the memory types and
ranges, the means of access to memory, and the instruction sets
available for the CPUs involved.
=======================================================================

=======================================================================
3. When upgrading a program (for example, adapting a CPU 212 program
for use with a CPU 216), select the new controller type prior to
modifying the program. From the Micro/DOS main menu screen:
a) Select the program you want to convert.
b) Press the OFFLINE-F8 key.
c) Select the new CPU model.
d) Press Enter. The program to be upgraded is opened (off-line).
e) Save the program and exit to the Micro/DOS main menu screen.
Access to the new instructions, memory ranges and types are now
enabled and available for your use in upgrading the program.
4. When downgrading a program (for example, adapting a CPU 212 program
for use with a CPU 210), make all necessary changes to memory types
and ranges, memory access, and instructions in the original program,
then save the program. Exit to the Micro/DOS main menu screen, and
execute the following steps:
a) Select the program you have just modified.
b) Press the OFFLINE-F8 key.
c) Select the new CPU model.
d) Press Enter. The program to be downgraded is opened (off-line).
e) Save the program and exit to the Micro/DOS main menu screen.

=======================================================================
5. When downgrading a program for use with a 210, be sure to delete all
synonyms that are out of range for the 210. This prevents the print
function from printing synonyms that do not apply to your program.
Note: The CPU compiles the user program during a download and reports
any errors back to Micro/DOS, where they are displayed. If a compile
error occurs upon download, the downloaded program does not replace what
is currently in the controller memory; therefore, you should switch back
to off-line mode to make the necessary corrections, and save the program
before attempting to download again.

Instructions for using the Multi-Point Interface (MPI) network drivers
======================================================================
MPI network adapter drivers may be used with STEP 7-Micro/DOS. Load the
drivers with the LOAD_MPI.BAT batch file. The batch file is in the same
directory as Micro/DOS and loads two drivers into memory. An error message
is displayed if the MPI network fails to start properly. If you get an
interrupt error, you have to set the MPI configuration to a free hardware
interrupt line. Each I/O adapter added to your PC must have a unique IRQ
assignment. The installed default S2CFGPGX.DAT file specifies IRQ5 for
use with MPI.
==========================================
Multi-Point Interface (MPI) use, continued
==========================================
Alternate interrupt values for PC-bus expansion adapters:
IRQ5, IRQ10, IRQ11, IRQ12, and IRQ15
Configuration file S2CFGPGX.DAT sets up the MPI drivers. For example, if
another adapter card is using IRQ5 already, try IRQ11 by changing
hwint_vector = 5 to hwint_vector = 11 in the S2CFGPGX.DAT file. Restart
your computer, reload the drivers with LOAD_MPI.BAT, and then enter
S7200 P0 to start Micro/DOS with MPI. (Alternatively, you can use
GO_MPI.BAT, which reloads the drivers and starts Micro/DOS with MPI.
You do not need to enter S7200 P0.)
==========================================
Multi-Point Interface (MPI) use, continued
==========================================
For MPI communication to work properly, baud rate settings must match.
For CPU 215 and 216, the baud rate setting in S2CFGPGX.DAT
must match the baud rate setting in Utility 10 (CONFIGURE PLC
COMMUNICATION PARAMETERS).
1. Use Utility 10 (CONFIGURE PLC COMMUNICATION PARAMETERS) to verify that
all Micro/DOS connections are set to the same baud rate.
2. Exit Micro/DOS.
3. Setup the desired baud rate for the Micro/DOS MPI driver by editing the
S2CFGPGX.DAT file in your Micro/DOS directory. In the S2CFGPGX.DAT file,
the default baudrate = 0 setting is for 9600 baud. If 19200 baud is
required, change to baudrate = 1.
4. Restart Micro/DOS running MPI.
==========================================
Multi-Point Interface (MPI) use, continued
==========================================
If MPI is used to connect a network of PLCs which use the new NETR and
NETW communication instructions, then all CPU 212s and 214s in the
network must have firmware version numbers higher than the following:
CPU 212 > 0.92
CPU 214 > 0.91
Use Utility 14 (System Information) to determine the firmware versions

4.UCDOS7.0包含WPS。5.软盘镜像转换工具,可把vfd格式转换成IMA格式,方便写入U盘做成ZIP启动盘。 这些工具并不好找,故让大家分享。
