ABSTRACT: This IA lists objectives for TFI-5 connects TDM fabrics to SONET/SDH and
OTN Framers (TDM Fabric to Framer Interface or TFI-5), with line-side interface rates of up to
OC-768, STM-256 or OTU-3. The interface supports synchronous time-division multiplexed
switches that have a minimum granularity of STS-1 and above.
