1 Introduction
1.1 Overview
AV Server – Audio Video Server – is a software application which allows the user to
implement a flexible audio/video capture data flow with advanced features like Video
Noise Filter, Lens distortion correction, face detection, image tuning tool support and
many more.
It allows the user to configure the data flow they want based on their requirements
and performance without having to modify the code or know the lower level details
of the implementation.
The AV Server is designed with IP Network Application in mind but as such can be
taken to other camera related application like video conferencing, DVRs as well.
1.2 Key Features
The key features of the AV Server are,
• Integrated advanced features like
o HW Lens Distortion correction
o HW assisted Video Stabilization
o HW Face Detection
o HW assisted Spatial Katana Noise Filter
o Temporal Noise Filter
• Image Tuning Tool support
o Ability to use PC based GUI to control the IPNC image processing
parameters and tune then without having to modify or recompile the
software
o Use Ethernet (TCP/IP) to exchange commands and data between PC
and DM365 IPNC
• Other features
o Triple-stream support
o Mirror, Flip support
• Modular and flexible software architecture
o Ability to change use cases based on configuration at one place during
application init. No need to change / modify code at many places for
different use cases. Example, 720P+VGA+QVGA use case, or D1 use
case with MPEG4, H264, JPEG tri-streaming compression
o Flexible data flows allow customers to select and “configure” different
data flows based on their feature requirements, performance available,
DDR bandwidth available etc. Example,
Up to 4 independent resolutions can be configured
