INTRODUCTION
There are hundreds of libraries on your computer. What are they doing there? Are they installed correctly? Whats in them? Take complete control over your system. Analyze, document, generate HTML Help and manage libraries. Fix installation problems and learn to use undocumented controls.
ActiveXplorer is a library file manager and analyzer with support for COM libraries (ActiveX controls, TLBs, DLL and EXE servers) and .NET assemblies. Your project is almost ready, but you dont have help file yet? Relax ActiveXplorer will create the needed documents within a few seconds. Get a new component from the Web, but have no idea how to use it? ActiveXplorer will show you everything you will need to use this component. Forget about the command-line regsvr32 ActiveXplorer allows you to do more with simple user interface.
FEATURES
* Analyze your files. ActiveXplorer 4.x allows you to analyze ActiveX controls (*.ocx), .NET assemblies, DLL and EXE servers (*.dll; *.exe) and type libraries (*.tlb).
* HTML Help generation. You can generate full HTML Help documentation for existing components within a few seconds in HTML Help 1.2 format. ActiveXplorer produces a TOC (Table Of Contents) page and is able to compile a .chm file. Feature requires the free Microsoft HTML Help Workshop.
* COM object management. Register/unregister, get Registry info and dependency files for COM objects.
* Create your reports. Generate an inventory report of installed components. Available formats: plain text, HTML, CSV and Excel.
* Component comparison. Compare components to find out about version differences and other info.
* Instantiate in Internet Explorer. Quickly view a component in Internet Explorer.
DEMO LIMITATIONS
The demo version is able to show data of first 50 components and display members of only one class in component. By ordering the full version you can use the program on projects of any size. There is no practical limit as to how large components ActiveXplorer can analyze.
HOW DO I BEGIN?
Trying ActiveXplorer is simple. Run it and wait when the list loads. Then click on any component. You will see results (general info, component analysis and so on) in the Analyze tab under the list. Click on them to see results. ActiveXplorer doesnt affect your components in any way.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
* 8 MB of disk space (although this may vary, subject to the number of installed components);
* At least 16 MB of memory (minimal requirement). For reasonable performance we recommend at least 32 MB on Windows 9x/ME machines and a minimum of 64 MB on Windows NT/2000/XP machines;
* Processor equivalent to a Celeron 500 MHz (minimal requirement). For reasonable performance we recommend a processor comparable to a Pentium III 700 MHz;
* Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 runtimes (included in installation package);
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or higher. If you are using Internet Explorer 4.x (or lower) you need to download scripting components from our web site;
* For .NET assembly analysis you need:
* Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 runtimes;
* Microsoft .NET Redistributables
* If you have the .NET Framework SDK or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET installed you already have Windows Installer and .NET Redistributables.
* ActiveXplorer functions without these additional .NET files but it doesnt support .NET assembly analysis.
We recommend to backup your system registry first.
INSTALLATION ISSUES
NetAnalyzer_Install.msi may show the following error:
"ActiveXplorer 4.x .NET Assemblies Analysis: This setup requires the .NET Framework. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again."
The error is not fatal. In this case .NET libraries are not supported, but ActiveX support is OK.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
All ActiveXplorer licenses include free unlimited technical support. Technical support is available via email. If you have a problem, do not hesitate to contact us at vbshop @ aivosto.com.
