What does it do
===============
It creates a message / call flow from an Ethereal trace for H.323 calls
How do I use it
===============
Capture a call (or more than one) using Ethereal. Filter the capture
using the following Filter:
h225 || h245
Print the output to file using File / Print. Select "To file" and
fill in a filename after "File". Press OK or Print or whatever the
button is called this week.
Open a command line and run the CallFlow application with these
parameters:
callflow -f <filename> -g <gatekeeper> [-o <outputname>]
filename The filename of the Ethereal print file [REQUIRED]
gatekeeper The IPv4 address of the gatekeeper [REQUIRED]
outputname The name of the output file [OPTIONAL]
This output file should not be an existing file
The default filename is output.txt
Example:
callflow -f test.log -g 192.168.11.4 -o callfromatob.txt
The output will have the following characteristics:
- For every H.323 message there will be the frame number from the
Ethereal trace, so it' trivial to find out what the contents of
the message were.
- Every message will have the time relative to the start of the
capure.
- Every IP address has its own column in the file
- The gatekeeper is always located in the second column, with
the first endpoint to the left of it and the rest to the
right.
Examples
========
In this directory you find a file called test.log, this file has
been used to generate output.txt, which is found in the same
directory.
